I installed the PhotoShop Beta to play with AI features but am frustrated by files opening in that version by default. I want the current public version to be my primary app and only reach for the beta when experimenting. When the beta installed, it changed all image files (tiff, jpeg, png, gif, bmp, psd, etc.) to open in the beta. I took the time to change all file associations back to the public release. Unfortunately, EVERY time updates are installed (even when the beta is NOT updated) all associations change back to beta.
I am so tired of playing this game. Is there some way I can forever block image files from defaulting to the beta? I'm using a macbook pro with ventura 13.6.2 Thank you.

One thing you can do is uninstall the beta.
Generative Fill has been in the public release for a couple of months and most of the other AI features have been in the public release for a couple of years.

Jane, I am a Windows user as you know, but about if the OP unistalled the full version and then reinstalled it? Would file associations then go to the most recentlty installed version?
In Windows it would only take a few moments to fix the file associations

It only takes a few moments to change file associations on macOS, too, Trevor, and I don't have the same problem as Rick. I was responding to this comment:
"Unfortunately, EVERY time updates are installed (even when the beta is NOT updated) all associations change back to beta. I am so tired of playing this game."
On both Windows and macOS, it's an OS issue, not an Adobe issue.
