Every file I open up in Photoshop looks like a weird collage intil I resize it or zoom in and out.  Wondering if this is a bug or some setting I need to switch on or off?  Thanks in advance!

First: Restore your preferences using this manual method:
https://helpx.adobe.com/photoshop/using/preferences.html#Manually
Does it work correctly?
If that doesn't solve it, you can quit Photoshop and put the Settings folder back.
If it does solve the problem, I would like to get the folder of settings to try and figure out what is bad with them.

If restoring prefs doesn't help, go to Preferences > Technology Previews... and check "Disable Native Canvas" - then restart Photoshop. Does the problem still occur?

Thanks!.. I Disabled the native canvas and it seems to be working properly at the moment.  Will keep you posted if it acts up again.

@DonHardy if you could re-activate the native canvas, I'd be interested to know if this problem still occurs. If things are bad, it would be very helpful if you could copy/paste the info from the Photoshop > Help > System Info screen so that we can determine whether your hardware is going to work long term with Photoshop.

That 'Deactivate Native Canvas' switch will go away eventually, and it'd be great to make sure your system will work fine when that day comes.

Hi..also wondering how to load another Photoshop on my laptop?  I just have one on my main computer.  Is there a link to getting another copy on my laptop?  I tried but it thinks I'm subscribing to a fresh version.  Thanks!

On the second coputer, sign in to creativecloud.adobe.com/apps, then select Install (or Download) for the app you want to install. That will install the app the CC desktop app and allow you to install additional apps from it.

I have the exact same thing happening (see attachment) this is a super simple file - 3 simple layers.  I even tried merging them. I've updated everything.  Any file created in Photoshop 23 is opening this way in both Photoshop 24 and Photoshop 23, I bought a new mac to be able to use Photoshop updates without problems, but this is a continuous and frustrating issue.  Screenship PS 2024 .pngexpand imageScreenshop PS 2023.pngexpand image

@dianaw31134978 ,

It looks like the document memory pyramid data is loading incorrectly into the document window. This is generally a temporary glitch, and resizing the window or forcing a redraw of any sort should correct the situation.

As for why it's happening, there isn't enough information here to say for sure, but I'd recommend rebuilding your preferences file to see if things straighten out; if that doesn't work, share some more details, like does it happen with all files (even new ones created from scratch), and what kind of hardware do you have?
