FLIP CANVAS IN PLACE WHEN ZOOMED IN

New Here ,
Jan 09, 2026 Jan 09, 2026

I used to be able to flip my whole canvas in place on where I'm rendering BUT

Just updated to the latest Photoshop.
And now when I'm zoomed in and I flip the canvas,

Its not in place anymore and completely flips to the other opposite side!!!

Its very annoying since I rely heavily on flipping to check proportions for my work!
please can someone help or fix this??

Hi @Inspiring_Rhapsody4763,

Thanks for reporting this. I understand how disruptive this is, especially if flipping the canvas is part of your regular workflow.

As @LAMY2017 pointed out, the key thing to clarify first is what exactly changed. To help us narrow this down, could you please confirm the following:
 • Are you now on Photoshop 2026 (v26.2)?
 • How are you flipping the canvas:
 • View > Flip Horizontal
 • Rotate View Tool
 • A custom keyboard shortcut
 • Edit > Transform > Flip Horizontal/ Ve

What changed, I_R? Did you recently update to Ps 2026? Which tool do you use to flip the canvas?

Hi @Inspiring_Rhapsody4763,

 • How are you flipping the canvas:
 • View > Flip Horizontal
 • Rotate View Tool
 • A custom keyboard shortcut
 • Edit > Transform > Flip Horizontal/ Vertical
 • Does the issue happen only when zoomed in, or also when zoomed out?

A couple of things to quickly check:
 • Go to View > Snap / Snap To and make sure it’s turned off
 • Try backing up & resetting preferences to rule out a corrupted setting

If possible, please also share:
 • Copy & paste System Info (Help > System Info)
 • A short screen recording showing the behavior

Once we have that, we can review and suggest next steps or escalate the issue to the Photoshop team.

Best regards,
Anshul Saini

Great questions, Anshul Saini. I was waiting for IR's filling in the blanks.
