Mac Mini (M1 2020)

acOS Big Sur 11.6

Photoshop version 22.5.1

Actions:

- I created a new file

- It contains 4 layers with extenton name.jpg7

- Save new file in a specific folder

- Click File>Generate Image Assets

Expected:

Image assets to be generated within newly created folder.

Actual:

No directory is created and Generate Image Assets remains unchecked.

I have been using this feature for years but it does not seem to work on my new M1 Mac. This is a incredibly important feaure for me since I often need to batch generate assets from layers. Any help would be greatly appreciated.

Hi there,

Sorry for the trouble experienced with "Image Assets" in Photoshop. From when are you seeing this problem? What happens when you try to 'check' the option?
Please ensure that Photoshop has the necessary permissions on your Mac by following the steps mentioned below:

  1. Go to the System Preferences for your Mac, then Security and Privacy, then select the Privacy tab.
  2. Then select Accessibility from the list to the left & check if Photoshop is added to the list with a checkmark in front of it.
  3. If Photoshop is not a part of the list, please add it by unlocking the window first using the lock at the bottom left, then clicking the + icon & navigating to the Applications folder.
  4. Also, grant permissions to Photoshop under Full disk access located in the same list as Accessibility.
  5. Once done, restart the Mac & check if it helps.

Let us know how it goes. Happy to help!

Thanks,
Ranjisha

Hi, @Jack Brannen

Thanks for reaching out,

Which version of Photoshop and macOS are you using? Would you mind sharing your workflow? Did you try re-installing the application after backing up your assets?

We're here to help, just need some info.

Thanks,

Ranjisha

Have the same issue with the M3 Mac. Set the Priveliges as suggested and still get the error message. Re-installed PS as well and still nothing.
