Generative Fill layer thumbnail preview no longer has original image combined with generated image?

Hi there! 

I'm having a issue when I have been using the Generative Fill tool in PS 2024.

Once I have expanded using the crop tool; selected the side I want to generate with the marquis tool - initiate generate.

The problem is that the generated content used to show up combined with the original image in the layers panel thumnail with the mask layer next to it. Now only the generated content is visible along with the mask layer. I used to be able to open this layer and edit in camera raw to fine tune and match generated image with the original so it would be seamless. What am I doing wrong?
