I am getting this strange Red Mask in PS 2023.
I run a Action that do Luminosity Masking.
When I click on the Layer, the photo becomes all Red Mask and I didn't do any Quick Mask.
In PS 2021 and PS 2022, I did not get Red Mask when I click on the Layers after doing this Action.
Need help. Thanks.

What happens when you uncheck the visibility of the Channel »Midtone 06«?

yes, you're previewing the channel in the Channels panel.

Could you please post a screenshot with the pertinent Panels (Toolbar, Layers, Channels, Options Bar, …) visible?
Are you in Quick Mask Mode (see Channels Panel)?

I asked for a screenshot with the pertinent Panels (Toolbar, Layers, Channels, Options Bar, …) visible.
And just to make sure what you did previous to the appearance of the overlay please also include the History Panel.

You can hide the Channel »Green copy« by clicking the channel visibility-icon (eye-shape) in the Channels Panel.

Can you provide the atn-file?
So far it doesn't seem like I can reproduce the issue; you could try inserting selecting the composite Channel before enabling the Layer Mask in the Action, that should hide alpha channel/s.

I cannot seem to reproduce the issue on Photoshop 24.1.0.
Have you included the selection of the Composite Channel in the Action yet?
