Han desaparecido los ficheros de la carpeta Duotones dentro de los Presets.

Hoy he actualizado Photoshop a la última versión y cuando he ido a utilizarlo, me he llevado la desagradable sorpresa de comprobar que la opción Duotono, dentro de Imagen -> Modo, ha quedado inoperativa. Parece que en los Presets han desaparecido los archivos Pantene dentro de la carpeta Duotones.

Thank you very much for your answer, Derek, but what you tell me does not solve the problem. I have been following the same procedure for a few years now to convert some of my photos to quadtone, using the Pantene files that are in the Duotones presets and it has always worked for me. It was today, when installing the latest version of Photoshop when the problem arose. As I said in my message, it seems that all the Duotone presets have been deleted.

I don't know enough about this matter to answer your question. I suggest you install the previous version of Photoshop and use that until the issue's resolved.

Thanks again, Derek. Yes, what you propose always works, although it has its nuisance. However, the fear I have is that the problem will not be solved and that Duotone function will disappear.

If that doesn't solve it, you can quit Photoshop and put the Settings folder back.

Hi Cory,

Thank you very much for your interest. I have followed your instructions and below I detail my workflow in versions 23.4.2 and 23.5, and the results of the changes you have suggested.

In version 23.4.2 I start from a black and white photo (Fig 1) and go to Image -> Mode (Fig 2). There I select 8 bits to use the duotones (Fig 3). The Duotone Options box appears (Fig 4). I press Ok and that's it.

In version 23.5 I do the same (Fig 5), but when I get to the Duotone Options box, what I show in Fig 6 appears, in which the selected Pantone colors do not appear. If I try to modify any of them, this box appears (Fig 7). As you can see, the photo is a horrible jumble of shadows.

If I try to change the presets it still doesn't work (Fig 8).

I restored the preferences using the manual method you told me and the result is still the same (Figs 9 and 10).

So I've uninstalled version 23.5 again and installed version 23.4.2., which luckily works.

Today I updated Photoshop to the latest version and when I went to use it, I was unpleasantly surprised to see that the Duotone option, within Image -> Mode, has been inoperative. It seems that in the Presets the Pantene files inside the Duotones folder have disappeared.

I suspect that the issue has something to do with Pantone pulling out of Adobe. They now have their own subscription. @CoryShubert might be able to shed more light on this.

As I understand it, you need a Pantone license from the Pantone Connect plugin:

Después de la respuesta de @jane-e y la confirmación de @CoryShubert de que Photoshop eliminará los plugins Pantene, salvo algunas pocas excepciones, queda claro que el enigma de la desapación de los ficheros de la carpeta Duotones queda resuelto. Así que doy por cerrado este hilo. (Soy nuevo aquí y no sé si esta es la forma correcta de hacerlo).
