Hand tool and path tool sticky after updating with latest version 24.5

Hi,

Usually I never have problems with updates. But this time, I got the sticky hand tool and the sticky pen tool (path).

- Whenever I move my image, about 1 time on 3, the image sticks to my cursor and moves with it.

- With the pen tool, I click and drag to show the 2 handles, they stick with my cursor in a way that it is impossible to position them correctly. I try clicking another anchor point and it "jerks" and my pont is not where I wanted.

It is just impossible to work in these conditions.

I rolled back first to 24.4.1 but I had the layer palette hiding problem popping again and I did not want to go through all the resetting of my preferences again to correct this.

So I rolled back again to 24.3 version. Wich seems to be ok for now.

Here are some informations so you may investigate this issue and hopefully correct this in the next update :

I tried with an without using legacy undo shortcut. It didn't work.

I made sure my drivers were up to date.

I am working with a Wacom Cintiq Tablette on a PC.

Resetting preferences seems to work for most people (myself included, I had it too).

Make sure you save out actions, brushes etc. that you want to keep.

Also had this straight after the upgrade.  Tried the complete "Reset Preferences on Quit" and at first it seemed ok, but it's back to some extend after a few minutes.  Mostly panning with the space bar held and either using the mouse or the Wacom pen.  Just doesn't seem to register the release of the pen/left click.  So frustrating.

I had the same thing with the Hand Tool in the 24.6 beta right after my very first install of it, so I don't think I need to try resetting Prefs.

Just FYI, cos I'll work in an older version anyway.

Well, that's half a day wasted trying to find a solution to this "upgraded" version.
For anyone who find this threat but not the other (https://community.adobe.com/t5/photoshop-ecosystem-discussions/hand-tool-lock-after-releasing-spaceb...).

My fix was nothing other than clicking the "Use Legacy Undo Shortcuts" in the Keyboard Shortcuts menu.  I know right? Soon we have to light six candles and chant to get stuff to work.

How that code has anything to do with the hand tool sticking after a pan (both on wacom and using mouse) is beyond me.  Pitty the new remove tool doesn't work on the infestation of bugs.

Thanks for putting the link to the other thread in here. I read it before posting mine and since I tried many different things, including the "Use legacy undo shortcut", wich did not work for me, that's why I posted this topic again, but in the bug section. I did not have the chance to try resetting again all my preferences because I have a lot of work to do and rolling back to Photoshop 24.3 gave me a stable environnement. If my pace slows down a bit I may go through some testing again. If not I will juste wait for the next update. 😉

Update : I just tried installing the newest update of Photoshop (24.6) But it keeps doing the same sticky bug. Tried to check and uncheck the "use legacy undo shortcut" option but it did not make any difference. Rolled back again to the 24.3 version to have a stable environnement.

Update: The "use legacy undo shortcut" only worked for a little while. I also started to have issues with spooky random white squares in my images, which made me check my graphic driver, and yes - it was outdated. So after updating the driver my problems are gone 🙂

had the same prob in PC Vers. 25.3.1 - It´s 2024 aund   it is unbeliveble that this bug riddled monstrosity sees it self as the gold standard of professional image software - till recently I worked (professional free lancer) with the CS6 Version - faster, more stable, less bugs, so Im looseing so much time with this sh&% that Im litterally hemorrhaging money here -so who ever thougt of the work around with the "Use Legacy Undo Shortcuts" - THANK U SO VERY MUCH - it did the trick for me - for now (aii, don´t jix it... ) 😉 - best regs to you people!
