Having problem scanning

Having problem scanning in Photoshop, the program will recognize the scanner but will not load, cannot find a WIA scanner

I thought Photoshop stopped allowing WIA support 10 to 15 years ago. Before the CC subscription model.  This was because it was so flakey, so it was best to scan to your drive and open in Photoshop.
