Having problems with JPG size when saving from RAW

Hey!

Bought a Macbook Pro M1 Max, and since I started editing my raw files and using the image processor to convert them all to jpeg after editing on Camera Raw, the quality has decreased from 13-22MB to 10MB or less. Before I edited on a Macbook Pro 2019 and the jpeg quality was way higher, so I'm a little confused about it.

I have already checked the Camera Raw settings and it seems all okay: 300dpi, working on 16 bits... And for the Image Processor the jpeg quality is set at 12, so really don't know what´s hapenning and I know my jpeg can have more quality when exported.

Would love to know if someone is also having this problem or just had it before that could tell me how to solve it.

Level 12 is max quality for Save As. You would need to compare the old images to the new ones to confirm if they are "apples to apples", which is hard as image content plays a huge role in JPEG file size.

With the same image and settings, do you get the same size when manually saving vs. Image Processor?

Worth mentioning is that one can batch save directly to JPEG or other formats directly from ACR with no need to open into Photoshop, unless editing beyond ACR.

Just to show how image content impacts jpeg file sizes These are the same compression level and pixel sizes.

The first is 49 kB, the second is 548 kB:
