Help opening old files for Photoshop from 2017

HI,  This is so frustrating trying to get help.  I am trying to open old files and when i go to click on names it says file empty.  I have been offline and have some files from 2017 and to 2020 and i cannot open no. i had saved in psd and pdf and it always says file empty even though i see a preview.  Please help
