I'm lost.  The photo that I downloaded has stock text in it.  How do I edit/remove it?

Assuming that the text is on its own layer:

  • Click on the text with the Type tool (the T) to edit.
  • Drag the Type layer to the trash can in the Layers panel to remove it.

If you need more detail, give us the number of the stock image so that we can look at it, and we can be much more specific.

If its a flattened image, you'll need to break out your retouching skills with clone stamp and healing brush.

Adobe stock, I believe are only jpgs, so you can't edit the text other than retouching it out. If it's the watermark, you have to purchase the image to remove it.

Where did you download from?

Is the file a PSD image with layers?
