How do I format a usb for a scratch disk

Im trying to use a usb for a scratch disk but it doesnt show up on the scratch disk. I heard I need to format it but i have no idea how to do that. Im on windows 11. Thanks!

This doesnt really answer my question. I know how to change my scratch disks, the issue is that my usb is not showing up under my scratch disks so I cant select it to change it to the current scratch disk in photoshop. It only gives me the option to select my pc storage as my scratch disk.

macOS: APFS or Mac OS Extended (Journaled)

Windows: NTFS, exFAT, FAT32

Drives not recommended for scratch disk

  • Thumb drives
  • Any USB-2 drive
  • NTFS formatted drives on macOS

Yes, Mine is a ntfs. Im googled it a lot and many people use usbs just fine for scratch disks, in fact before I bought my usb an adobe tech support specialist told me it would work.
