Hello, i am a little bit confused. I have a solid color layer with a mask, and the mask part of the layer loses its visibility whenever i click away from its selection. I go to channels, click on the eye next to it and i can see it just fine but it switched back to eye icon removed on its own. Any idea how to save the channel visibility properties?

With the Color Fill Layer active/selected you can press the Backslash Key

if what you want to see is the Red overlay of the mask.

Thank you, is there another way to do it? I am doing this on a German PC with German keyboard and the backslash key is seemingly impossible to input (according to other people online as well). I tried all combinations suggested by others but nothing is working, also not responding in PS either.

On Windows you can install English language pack and switch temporary to it while working in Photoshop. If you want to type something in Photoshop press Win logo Space bar and change input language on the fly, thats what I am doing all the time.
