How do I turn off window transparency?

How do I turn off window transparency?  I can't figure out for the life of me why Apple and/or Adobe would make your workspace partially transparent.  When I'm working on photos in Photoshop or editing in Premiere Pro my photos and videos reveal the application under it!  Why???  How do I fix this egregious error?

From within photoshop go to Window and click on Application Frame.

Could be a graphics card related glitch.

What model mac are you running?

What version of photoshop are you using?
