this is a technical question: Is there is a software limit on the number of pen pressure levels Photoshop can recognize if a graphic tablet is being used?
Back in the CS6 days, the highest number of pen pressure levels in a Wacom tablet was 2048. Photoshop CS6 allowed for all 2048 pressure levels to be recognized and translated into line thickness and opacity of the chosen brush tool.
But what if Photoshop CS6 was used with a modern graphic tablet with 4096 or even 8192 pen pressure levels? Would it stil recognize all pressure levels, or was there a software limit at 2048?
And what about Photoshop CC today? If a new graphic tablet suddenly would offer, say, 16384 pen pressure levels, would PS CC recognize all of those, or is there a limiting factor built into the software that would prevent Photoshop from taking advantage of so many pen pressure levels?
