How to change the initial/automatic duration of a newly created layer in Photoshop timeline

While animating in the photoshop timeline, whenever I create a new layer, it's always set to five seconds long. As a result, if I want the drawing in the layer to play out for the entire duration of my animation (which is most of the time), I have to manually drag the layer out all the way to the end. It seems like a waste of time, but I haven't been able to find any way around this. Is there a setting that allows me to change the INITIAL duration of a newly created layer in the photoshop timeline? Is there a way to set all new created layers to play out over the ENTIRE timeline, so that I don't have to manually drag each one out every time I create them?
