I want to be able to get the coordinate data of multiple independent selections and create them as new layers. But I didn't find a similar API in the official documentation, only the API for creating selections.

I guess the official API does not provide this is because not all selections are a rectangle like this?

I am not completely sure I understand what you intend to do.

But I suspect the existing Layer-Splitting-Scripts might be useful.

Unfortunately, I don't understand the question either. But maybe the following shortcut for creating a new layer from a selection is already a little help ->

[Strg/Ctrl] + [J]
