Hi,
I'm very new to PS. When I try to open a RAW file, it opens in a new window.
I would like to insert it in the main workspace of the AP.
Thanks in advance for your help :).

Greetings from Montreal,
Timergas

Photoshop cannot open raw files, so they will open in Adobe Camera Raw (ACR), which is a plugin for Photoshop and Bridge.

ACR is a raw converter that renders a new file from the raw file, including the edits you have done in ACR, and opens this new file in Photoshop when you click Open. The edits you have done in ACR are saved as text to a sidecar XMP file – the raw file itself  has not changed. This is known as non destructive editing.

If you don't want to edit your raw image in Camera Raw, you can hold the shift key, when opening the file, and it should open directly into Photoshop. This is handy in cases when you have already done the edits in Camera Raw, and just want to quickly open the file in PS.
