So i was using this other program, saved it as a PSD.I didn't notice it was 2.04GB, but for a particular reason I had to exit the program and figured i'd open it to its previous saved version for the layers i was missing- come to find out it won't open. then it won't open in PS because it says it's not compatible with this version of Photoshop. So, how do i even open an already Large file?
No way around it. You need to strip down the file in whatever "this other program" is. Alternate tools that use PSDs do a lot of stuff that simply isn't compatible with PS such as of course storing their own custom data or generally producing out of spec files. If you e.g. use Corel, at least try to produce a clean file using the Export function...
