In my experience, the term “deepetched" used to refer to clipping paths back in the day, before one could use transparency in a layout file...

So are there paths in the TIFF files?

Is there an alpha channel?

Is the file flattened to a single locked Background layer?

Is there a single unlocked floating layer?

Can you provide a sample file?
