To show icons for PSDs needs two things.
1. The PSD needs to be saved with maximise compatibility from Photoshop. You can set this in Preferences > File Handling and it adds a flattened version of the file to the PSD that can be read by other apps including codecs.
2. You need to add a codec to Windows to read the PSDs and display the thumbnail icons as images. Neither Microsoft or Adobe provide this, but they are available online from third party developers. A quick search for 'PSD icon display
