After updating to the latest photoshop for my Macbook M1 Pro, I'm having issues with unneeded/unwanted blank space when opening photos in photoshop - I end up with a huge amount of blank canvas around my images which I don't need or want. It makes cropping especially problematic when the crop tool goes off the edge of the photo, it continues into the large blank space and the photo almost disappears off the workspace.
I'm sure I've had this issue in the past and there's a quick fix, but can't for the life of me remember how to do it. I want my images to open as they did in my last version - fully filling the canvas without any blank space around them.
Please help!

I don't know what happened to the captions I put on my images, but here they are again:
Photo 1: How every image looks when I open in photoshop - note the scroll bars with a large amout of empty space either side of the scrollers. They never used to be there on my older version of PS.
Photo 2: When expaning the window, you can see all of the blank useless space around the image.
Photo3: Showing how much empty space is around the image when scrolling almost to the end of the scrollbars. Again, this space never used to be there when I opened images - the edge of my photo was the automatically the edge of the canvas.

It looks like your image window is not docked to the workspace. If you grab the top of your window and drag it to the tools on the left you will see a blue line around the main workspace, let go of the window and it should dock. That way when you have multiple projects open they will appear along the top of the workspace as tabs rather than seperate windows.

Thanks for the reply - the solution was sorted by the other respondent.

Legend! Thank you. You've saved my sanity.
And to anyone from Adobe who ever bothers to read these threads (which I'm guessing is nobody), thanks again for making life unnecessarily difficult by wiping arbitrary user settings and preferences with every update you force upon us. Really appreciate it.
