»only selected area is remained, rest everything is gone.«

What else do you want to achieve with the Crop Tool?

Might you be confusing it with a Selection Tool?

If you make a selection and then choose the Crop tool, it will helpfully put the Crop handles around your selection. If you accept the Crop, it will crop to what you had selected (as it did.)

Try one of these methods:

  • Select what you want to keep, then Crop
  • Deselect > choose the Crop tool > adjust the Crop handles > accept the crop

Perhaps you want to work on a layer not the whole document. Crop is global document tool it crops every layer to be within the documents canvas. There is an option not to discard content.  With that option no content is discarded. The document canvas size is just changes and it acts like a  clicking mask.  There may be an exception or Photoshop may convert the background layer to a normal layer. The background layer does not support transparency of masking it is canvas size.  Whenever a crop I use image crop and discard the pixels.
