I had the same problem. After resetting my preferences, I discovered the home button is located on the Options menu. You just have to turn the Options menu back on. Windows > Options.

Sounds pormising that this Home Button, one of the most anoying buttons in the UI, can be disabled... I've used these products since before Adobe bought Aldus in the 90s... Can you tell us how to get rid of this button? The amount of times I open a document, go to click "File" in the menu, but as I click, the Home button has appeared in it's place, and it SAVES AND CLOSES the document!... so frustrating.

If it can't be disabled, at the very least allow us to either move it or move it to the far right of the top menu.
