Hi, considering downloading the 2022 photoshop/lightroom combo. Does anyone know if you have a previous non-monthly subscription version if dowloading the latest affects things like existing lightroom catalogues / plugins, or does the new software run totally indepently of what other older adobe programs you have and would still like to continue using as well as the latest versions?

At present I still use and would continue using photoshop 7.1 made back in the days of the dinasour but works well with manufacturers plugins and actions from companies that no longer exist.  Lightroom using the last annual paid version 6.xx and again would still like to use for certain presets that probably do not work in the same way?

Whilst I'm hoping that some of the new features over time will allow me to switch to using the latest versions,  for now i would like to test and run side by side.

Any advice / help / comments appreciated  - thanks in advance.

You should be able to run the different versions independently.

Make sure that your computer meets the minimum requirements of the new software:

Hi thanks for your reply - sounds encouraging.  If you download the desktop version as a trial, at the end of the trial if you wanted to switch to the cloud/mobile version is that possible or do you have to uninstall and reinstall different options ?

Thanks again

There is only one Photoshop version. Whether you want to save to cloud or local disk is entirely up to you.

Lightroom, however, comes in two versions, one desktop (Lightroom Classic) and one cloud based (just Lightroom). The Photography Plan includes both, so you don't need to choose one over the other.
