Image changing colour when cursor rolls over it

I seem to be stuck in a place in photshop that I cannot get out of.  If I bring in a new image into photoshop as soon as I roll the cursor over the image the whole image turns a pink colour. Once I take the cursor off the image the image returns to normal colours.

Any help would be appreciated as I cannot do anything with Photshop while stuck in this postion   Thanks in advance.

Can you give us information about your system and version of Photoshop as well as the graphic card you have?

Does it get better when you turn off the GPU preview in the preferences?

You could also check for newer drivers for the graphic card.

I am running Windows 11 on a PC with a Nvidia GeForce GTX1650 graphics
card. The display is a 32" LG 32UN360-W. I have Photoshop 2024 Does that
help ? You asked me to turn off the preview but I am not sure how to do
that .
Thanks for the info so far. Best Regards Alex

You can turn that off in Preferences > Performance.

This will slow down Photoshop, but it's just meant as a test whether the graphic card is responsible

Does this happen with any tool selected?

If the Object Selection tool is the selected tool when you open an image, the pink color is normal and expected. The pink color is supposed to show you what Photoshop believes is an object that the AI has identified in the image.

The reason Semaphoric asked about tools is that the pink color should appear only when the Object Selecftion tool is selected. If any other tool is selected, no part of the image should turn pink. So if hovering the pointer over the image shows pink highlights when the Object Selection tool is selected it’s expected, but if the image turns pink when any other tool is selected that is not expected and would be a weird thing to look into.

Hey guys thanks so much for all the help. As it turns out it was the Object Selection tool and my lack of knowledge of Photoshop that was causing the problem.
I really appreciate you taking the time to straight me out 🤪
