Hello,

I've noticed that with with some of the images I scan when i view them on Photoshop, especially the ones with the higher resolution, and when I zoom the image out or fit to screen the image start flickering and the colours appear to shift a bit as well.

This normally happens with the ones I scan at 1200dpi but sometimes with 600dpi images as well. All reflective materials.

I recently purchased the new 16" MacBook Pro so it shouln't be a hardware issue? Is it somethign wrong with the images or the way I'm scanning them?

Thank you in advance.

Try unticking "Use Graphics Processor", found in Photoshop preferences under the Performance tab, then closing and reopening the application.
