Improve photo quality

Hello community. I'm asking you to know which is the best way to increase the quality of photos with Photoshop? or is there a free alternative method? I need to increase the quality of some of my photos to train a LORA model in Flux. I think that if they weigh 2 or 3 MB it would be enough, I guess.

Hola comunidad.

If the image is low quality, the only way to "fix" it is to use a different photo. If you post an image we can see if anything can be done. By "low quality, we don't know if you mean blurry, faded, washed out, or something else.

In addition to Jane's excellent answer, it would also be useful to know if the images are to be used for screen, such as for a website or for printing, such as for a book.

Hi @rod381279730yzy, from what I gather online, one of the most important things is to use images with a consistent size during the training sessions. Training images to use with Flux LoRA models are probably going to be cropped to a consistent size, about 1024 pixels on the long side. I am thinking you should start with that size at least. How many images are you going to use for the training? Thousands, millions? Don't think in terms of weight (MBs) but in terms of pixel size. Once you have the images gathered, you can use Photoshop's batch processing (File > Scripts > Image Processor) to size your images by pixel size. Use 1024 px for both width and height to size verticals and horizontals correctly. The processor won't crop them square, it will use that size for the longest measurement. I hope that's helpful!

Hi @rod381279730yzy, for LoRA training, focus on consistent pixel size rather than file size—1024x1024 works well. Photoshop’s Image Processor (File > Scripts > Image Processor) is great for batch resizing. If you need to bump up resolution, you could try AI-based upscalers—some free ones online do a decent job. Just keep your images clean and consistent for the best results.
