Hello. In this image I want to make adjustments to the background only, not the subject. With the subject selected, when I hit Invert (Invert 001) the outline does not invert and the subject becomes posterized (Invert 002). What am I doing wrong? Thx for any help.

You are inverting the contents of the selection. To invert the selection itself, use Select > Inverse (Shift + Control + I)
