I made a photo of a building with a semi transparent smiley face on it once. wfgi9Qn

I have since lost the original file. Is there any way I can get rid of the smiley face by selecting, copying, pasting it over itself and then use a layer blend mode to make it disappear?

I think it would need a pretty good Layer Mask, probably at least two Adjustment Layers and then some touch-up atop that to address the »seams«.

Generative Fill is not in Photoshop yet — it's only in Photoshop (beta).
