ipad photoshop file failed to save

I worked for over 3 hours on a photoshop file I imported into my ipad photoshop app. I do this all the time but last night it did not save and has been completely lost. It does not come up in my Recents and when I find the original photoshop file and open it zero changes have been made and it still does not come up in my recents. I tried renaming the jpg to create a copy (4 times) and a weird message came up each time saying "File promoted to a new Photoshop document" but the files were nowhere to be found and continue not to be visible in my 'Recents' list or on the desktop. I left it overnight and it is still the exact same issue this morning. I have saved the file as I worked and opened it multiple times, saved and closed and it refuses to exist on the ipad. When I check what has been saved on the desktop it does not even appear here either. I have looked at the syncing and it is up to date but nothing has appeared anywhere. There are about 6 new files I have created now plus the original file which disappeared with hours of photo retouching just gone. This is very frustrating.

I have version 5.5.2 on the ipad and 25.9 on the desktop where I can see and open the file.

I have a Macbook Pro running Sonoma 14.5.

Also note, I have tried with other files, I have all the most up to date software on both my ipad and macbook and it was all working perfectly 36 hours ago when I worked on multiple files. There have been no changes or updates in between and I have just checked all my updates are up to date.
