Is Photoshop Still Able to Run AppleScript Scripts ?

Explorer ,
Apr 25, 2025 Apr 25, 2025

Hi everyone !

I've kind of a silly question: Are AppleScript still usable in Photoshop 2025 ?

For some reason when put in the Photoshop --> Presets --> Scripts folder, quiting and launching back Photoshop, I can't find them in the File --> Script, nor can I execute them manually when I browse through my computer files.

Did I miss an update or Adobe really wants up to use UXP / ExtendScript for scripting ?

Thanks in advance for your answers !

  1. Version of the app: Photoshop 2025.
  2. Platform and OS version: macOS 15.3.2.
  3. Basic steps to reproduce the problem: Adding a AppleScript to Photoshop 2025 --> Presets --> Scripts.
  4. Expected result and actual result: expected: the scripts show up in File --> Scripts section, like in Illustrator
actual: nothing aside from custom .jsx files show up.

False alarm ! It wasn't clear to me that I had to run my scripts directly in macOS's script Editor.
