You image show nothing about  the template PSD structure you used.  What is in its layer where/how do you add content. What in image you posted did you add. How  does the Template layer composite with what you add? The template may be designed to do what you see for all we know.

Please post screenshot with Layers panel visible. It is desired to find and select layer in the Layers panel which holds problematic shape. it can be blend mode applied to shape but also and something else.
