Ok I JUST now learned Adobe released PS for iOS (or at least for the iPad). I mean JUST an hour ago. Since they tried something before that 'resembled' PS and we know how that went... Is this new release sufficiently competitive with ProCr? If you have a quick review posted somewhere, please provide link. Thanks!!

If you have PS, then you can download iPad if your iPad will support it. My iPad is too old for the Apple Pencil, but PS for iPad works on it, and I'm starting to play with it. Give it a try!
I already downloaded et al. Just wondering whether anybody HERE on Adobe's community forum pages has actually USED it and if so, what your take is so far. Did a search for such before I posted here (not a naive user, folks - designer and engineer with an MFA). Just wanted to find out what people's experience so far is with it especially compared to the current industry standard for iOS in this channel which so far has been ProCr (iOS means anything running on Apple mobile devices).
I've been playing with it for almost a week. It's the first version, and it has potential. There are things that are missing. There is a separate forum for Photoshop for Mobile with staff answering most of the questions and they are encouraging feature requests.
Now that was helpful. It would be helpful also if you posted actual link to that direct page for that specific conversation. By now I have tried it and it was too buggy for me to get much done with it. The request for 'features' you mentioned makes me more skeptical of the future of it as what is always needed at launch is concentrating on stability and foundational design both of which in my experience at least last week was not good enough to even get a regular user like me to persist in using it on mobile. Thank you but before I leave this discussion, a few things from a UX specialist here and professor of art who had been using most of Adobe's product line since the 80s:
1. Making users who have gone to the extra effort to post here with feedback and questions now go to a separate place and establish a second account to continue discussing et al is in itself a poor design ...and confusing. Ex., I already am a CC subscriber and logged in to participate here. Now you want me to establish another account to further discuss somewhere else? This may be convenient to you but a busy user, esp your high volume high use user, will not go through those extra steps and you end up not capturing likely valuable info.
2. The early versions of mobile PS appear to now have taken into consideration some very basic UX principles such as Fitt's law. I cannot imagine Adobe not employing UX designers who do not have that knowledge or chose to ignore it so I have to wonder whether the mobile product MANAGER chose to dismiss or ignore the recommendations of your UX folks - as sometimes happens with well meaning but young and relatively inexp prod managers. If so, that is problematic for these kinds if design issues are much more problematic on mobile platforms.
3. Empathy is a critical concep in design. I want to encourage you to have better benchmarks for first release (post-alpha). The concept of leveraging users as your alpha test user population when motivated, as it generally is, by an assumption of reduced production cost, is advantageous to the company but not necessarily to loyal users and fails both when, as is the state of play today, the company has strong competition in the channel. I don't know that Adobe's approach of just 'throwing something out there right away' served you here.
4. LAST ONE: 'Adobe' needs to watch 'its' attitude here. The response to user re release date and perceived delay in 2019 seemed snotty defensive. Managing expectations of loyal users requires experience and empathy, the latter of which is a major actual quality ALL educational entities are formally building into training programs today. Get with the 'program', Adobe.
