Layers don't align

After opening multiple layers from Lightroom Classic to Photoshop (both updated, Windows 10) and attempting to align the layers one layer would not comply. I tried multiple times. Shut down PS and restarted still no go. Finally, I deleted that layer and opened it alone then drug it into the others. This is not the first time but it's the only time I stopped to screenshot the problem. Please see attached. This only happened once during this editing session.

You have 3 CR2 files and one JPEG. The layers are aligned to the upper left. How did you want them aligned?

Do you know why the JPEG is so much smaller? And did you mean to use a JPEG instead of a RAW file for that image?

Are your RAW and JPEG files opening in Photoshop with different resolutions?

Honestly, Michael, I thought all my files opened as RAW in Photoshop. I go straight from Lightroom to Photoshop so I can't really answer your question unless you mean after saving a file as a JPEG and then opening it in PS. But, in this situation, I didn't do that.

Hi Karen. I believe my initial question is now redundant after you and @jane-e  worked out that the problem is the presence of the JPEG file. It sounds like your problem is solved but please let me know if you have more questions.

I still don't understand why a random JPEG pops up in there. Any thoughts?

In an earlier comment you said that you shoot in both RAW and small JPEG. Perhaps when you import your RAW images into Lightroom you are occasionally accidentally including a JPEG.

I don't even know how to do that. I just connect my camera to the computer
and hit, import. I'm not sure how to find the JPEGs. Is there a setting in
LR that I should be looking at?

Thanks!

Perhaps double check your Lightroom import settings. You could also review the folders where your images are stored and look for any odd files. Adobe Creative Cloud also comes with Bridge that could help you out.

To tell you the truth I thought it was only the RAWs that were opening in
PS from Lightroom. I realize now that the one that was wacky was a JPEG but
I don't see any others.

That is a great question. I shoot in raw and small JPEG. I assumed when
imported they are all coming in as raw. I have no idea why that one was a
JPEG.

I've moved your post from "Bugs" to "Discussions" since this does not appear to be a bug.
