I am using Adobe Lightroom's AI masking to generate mattes for parts of my image. Is there a way to export them for Adobe Photoshop?
After generating them on a portrait I tried "edit in Photoshop", "open in Photoshop as smart object", exporting a PSD, a PNG and a Tiff. Nothing worked. I cannot belive this is not working so maybe I am doing something wrong here?

Look for other threads on this with workarounds.
I hope it will someday (a.s.a.p.) be The Next Big Thing 🙂
It's crazy we still can't have good skin masks in PS itself and would need Retouch4me Skin Mask instead.
A first step is to have the ability to record the command from PS to the ACR plugin into an action, which it is now not doing. For a skin mask that would be to record and allow it the time to select the subject's face and skin. If we make some overall changes to that selection in ACR, we can at least make a difference mask from the result ourselves.
What might be the ideal for me is to get some variations to pick from for getting back a mask out of Lr/ACR:
- a greyscale mask (like what you would get from a difference mask)
- that mask fully opened, only covering eyes, lips, teeth, nose holes, ...
- the mask for skin and face fully opened (including eyes, etc.)
- ...
IIRC, you can make all these variations already inside Lr/ACR, but it can't be automated/recorded.

I agrre with you, why can't masks be exported into Photohop? Also, I'm wondering if Adobe with have blur features into Lightroom?
