Is there anyone who has seen this before and knows what the problem is? I am just starting to learn how to use photoshop, so I might be making a beginner's mistake here. When I am using my brush it should look like the first picture, but it doesn't. Instead it looks like the second picture and it's driving me crazy. Can someone tell me what I am doing wrong here?

Hello @mark_4178 ,

Glad you were able to solve it! Would you mind posting your solution here? This may be helpful for a future user in case they run into the same issue. They'll be able to see the problem you had and the solution in the same area.
