Mac OS 11.5.2, photoshop is unusable

I see there are quite a few posts about Photoshop acting strangely. For me it started as soon as I updated to Mac OS 11.5.2 yesterday. I open an image an the window is grey, if I use the zoom tool I might get the image but it is jittery and flashing on and off! What's going on? Dreamweaver is freezing a lot too since this upgrade.
