I prompted an image from firefly.
I duplicated it in the cclibs panel to keep track.
I opened that copy in photoshop.
I "uncropped" the copy in Photoshop with minimal steps (crop larger, generate, wait, pick 1/3 options).
-> See the cropping difference between what's on screen and in the cclib.
Since I wanted to keep only the flattened jpg image in the cclib, I went to layer, flatten.
I saved my file, it was still a jpg (If I had kept layers ps+cclibs would have refused to save it).
The thumbnail in the cclib didn't update. neither online in assets.adobe.com.
I thought my "work" was lost, but double clicking the thumbnail in Ps CClibs panel opened the desired version. Great.
Trying to import into Ai only imported the previous (smaller original) version.
Then same thing in Ps : double click, opens the big edited file, fragging the cclib item imports the small older original version…
What have I missed ?
So far, my solution was to build a new asset from that background layer to ensure I could have import it in Ps or Ai or wherever.
