Masking - 'select object' tool will not work. Neither will selecting the object, background or sky.

Masking - 'select object' tool will not work. Neither will selecting the object, background or sky. I have uninstalled and reinstalled lightroom, aswell as re-do my subscription and even update my MAC, however nothing seems to be working. 

Anyone help?
