Mixer brush tool: applying foreground color after changing brush size (Photoshop 23.4.1, Windows 10)

Instead of mixing colors, the Mixer Brush Tool colors with the foreground color after having changed the brush size. This malfunction only occurs with the first action (or stroke), the behavior of the second action is normal again. Former versions of Photoshop worked properly.

Are you using a graphic tablet? If so, please try the same operation with the graphic tablet unplugged. Then ckeck for driver version and compatibility issue.

Dear Michelle

Thank you for your quick reply. I think the malfunction has something to do
related to the Monogram Creative Console I use. Changing the brush size
manually with the mouse or even via the Wacom pen works properly. But as
soon as I use the respective monogram tool (orbiter tool), the malfunction
occurs. Nonetheless, it does not happen in former Photoshop versions.

The screenshot below shows the case. The malfunction only appears with the
first stroke, the second one works as it should.
