Move tool acting strange

When moving one layer over the background layer with the move tool, the moved layer appears in both the original and the new positions until I click back through a few history states. This happens with type as well. Can I turn that off?

Assuming you're using Photoshop version 21.2, go into the performance settings and disable legacy compositing if it's enabled and restart Photoshop

I think it's something Adobe broke with this update, legacy composting works fine in version 21.1.3.

There's also other issues with older GPU's not been detected in version 21.2 yet they work fine in 21.1.3
