Moving objects or images lagging

New Here ,
Jul 06, 2020 Jul 06, 2020

I recently updated all my Adobe apps and Photoshop started lagging when I move objects.  For example, if I move a bitmap logo or any object from point A to point B, it shows the logo/image in both points, A and B. I didn't duplicate the object I just changed the positioning. It's really painful, especially for digital painting. I am using an iMac with 32 Gb of Ram so theoretically it should not be a problem...Any clues about how can I solve this? Thank you.

Switch off Legacy Compositing Edit > Prefs > Performance. Then restart PS. This seems to clear up the problem.

I'm having the same issue... photo images lagging when I move them on the screen.  I looked all through drop-down menus and I don't see the path you describe:  "Switch off Legacy Compositing Edit > Prefs > Performance." I'm using PShop 2024 and your instructions are several years old. Possibly this path has changed?
