Multiple issues with Photoshop

Here are the issues that I am currently facing:

1. Cannot exit the program without restarting my computer

2 Cannot exit button mode in the actions panel

3. Cannot save a resized image

4. Cannot open images directly in photoshop...have to open them via Bridge

If I were facing those four issues, the first thing I would do is to reset preferences after backing up customization.

• Preferences > General > Reset Preferences on Quit

Indeed, start resetting preferences!

If that doesn't work:

Go to Preferences > Performance... and uncheck Multithreaded Compositing - and restart Photoshop. 
Still crashing? 
Go to Preferences > Performance... click Advanced Settings... and uncheck "GPU Compositing" - then restart Photoshop. Still crashing?
