my eraser tool erase take more then one click

hey everyone

 

i am new to adobe photoshop 

and when i erase it takes more then one click

means when i click it erase but still it is visible but it is light and it take 1 to 10 or 5 clicks to erase it all 

can you help me with this

With the Eraser Tool selected, look at the options running along the top of Photoshop. If you don't see these, activate the Options entry within the Window menu. Make sure the values for Opacity and Flow are set to 100%.

I have these two activated yet Im still deleting everything completely with multiple passes. Im also using the hard round brush. I want to be able to erase with one pass only! 

Any other suggestions much appreciated!
