New Guides Behaviour

Not sure if you'd call this a bug, but anyway:

I'm not sure what version this came in, but when you place a guide it stays selected, unless I select the move tool and click on the canvas. If I create a guide, then select a layer to delete, PS deletes the guide, not the layer I've selected. This is really frustrating 'feature' that literally no one asked for! Please can you make it an option to turn off? There was nothing wrong with how it behaved previously. Now it get's in the way of my workflow all the time.

Thanks in advance.

Thanks C – it's just extra faff I have to do rather than keeping in the flow of work. Like some of the other 'enhancements' there should be an option to use legacy style functionality.
