New Select People feauture does not make selections

Community Beginner ,

Hi all,
I've updated to Photoshop v.26.7.0 on Windows 10 Pro, using an Nvidia K1200 graphics card.
I'm trying to use the new Select People option in the Object Selection Tool. While people are correctly recognized, when I choose individual parts like eyes, eyebrows, ears, etc., the tool outlines the correct areas  but after clicking "Apply," no selection is actually made.
I've tried with several different images, but the issue persists.

Hi again @Aleke and @Trevor.Dennis , I found the issue: the PC I’m working on has an old graphics card, an Nvidia Quadro K1200, and I’m using Windows 10 Pro, which cannot be upgraded to Windows 11. After a quick comparison with others, I realized the problem was likely related to these or similar conditions. So, I investigated Photoshop’s Preferences and found the solution in the Image Processing section: the “Selections Processing” setting was set to “Faster.” Once I changed it to “More Stable”

Hi @Dar7!

I gave it a test on my end, and the tool seems to be working as expected. To help us figure out what might be going wrong, could you share a quick screen recording of your full workflow? That way, we can try to follow your exact steps and see if we can reproduce the issue.

Thanks so much!
Alek

Hi @Aleke , thank you so much for your help! I've tried several times without any success. I'm an Adobe Certified Instructor, so I'm quite skilled in this field. As you requested, I recorded a video showing the use of the Camera Raw filter to demonstrate that I can use the "Find People" tool in ACR and all its components. It's just the new feature that doesn’t seem to work for some reason...

Hi @Dar7! Thanks so much for sharing the video—and that fix you found is super helpful! It'll definitely come in handy if someone else runs into the same issue. Really appreciate you taking the time to report back. If anything else pops up, don’t hesitate to swing by the community again!

Take care,
Alek

Do you have Hide Extras enabled perhaps?  Easy to test, but if you tried something like Ctrl J to copy, or Alt backspace to fill, you'd see if there was a selection in place that was not showing.

@Aleke  I wish everyone used the tag feature when it was going to be useful.  We sometimes see people respond to old threads, and there is little chance that the person being asked will see the question.  But, it is usually always good practice to at least use the quote button, which will also tag that person.

Sorry for the egg sucking lesson there.  It is often difficult knowing where to pitch a response not knowing the original poster's experience.  Thanks for letting us know what fixed your issue.  That is going to help other people going forward.
