New Transform tool invert to old one

Hi everyone,
I'm wondering if Adobe has recently changed the behavior of Free Transform in Photoshop back to the older version. I noticed that when transforming objects, it now behaves more like it used to in the pre 2019 versions for example, scaling without holding Shift keeps the proportions again.

Has anyone else noticed this? Is this an official change or something related to preferences or a recent update?

Adobe gave us a choice several versions ago.

One way is to enable or disable the link button in between the Width and Height controls, which will show up after you choose Control+T or Edit menu > Free Transform. You can also change the setting in preferences.

If you don't see it, please use control+t and show your options bar.
