New Update Photoshop25 and no generative fill

Hi, I just had an update from Adobe photoshop 2024 to 2025 and when I select an item with the tool the generative fill is greyed out and won't let me type anything in it. I even make another layer and it still doesn't work. Does anyone know the possible solution or why this would happen? Thanks

Could you post a screenshot of the entire window with the Layers panel expanded and visible?

By the way, what is bit depth?

If the image is 32 bits per channel, change it to 16 or 8 bits.
